Patient Assessment and Care Planning
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop nursing care plans, monitor vital signs, and coordinate with the clinical team to deliver evidence-based care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Medication Administration
Administer prescribed medications, manage IV therapy, monitor for adverse reactions, and maintain accurate medication records in compliance with NCK standards and facility protocols.
Specialised Clinical Procedures
Perform wound care, catheterisation, phlebotomy, ECG monitoring, and assist with minor surgical procedures. ICU nurses manage ventilators, haemodynamic monitoring, and critical care interventions.
Patient Education and Discharge
Educate patients and families on disease management, medication adherence, and post-discharge care. Coordinate discharge planning with social workers, nutritionists, and community health teams.
Requirements and Licensing

Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK)
Licence renewal: Annual (by December 31st each year)
- Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited institution
- Valid NCK practising licence (renewed annually)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Speciality certification for ICU, theatre, renal, or neonatal roles
