Your Trust Score & Ratings

Your trust score is one of the most important factors in getting matched with shifts. This guide explains how ratings work and how to maintain an excellent reputation on OnLocum.

Understanding Your Trust Score

What Is the Trust Score?

Your trust score is a comprehensive rating that reflects your reliability, professionalism, and quality of work. It's visible to facilities when they review your applications.

The score ranges from 1.0 to 5.0 stars:

  • 5.0 - 4.5: Exceptional (Top Performer badge)
  • 4.4 - 4.0: Excellent
  • 3.9 - 3.5: Good
  • 3.4 - 3.0: Fair
  • Below 3.0: At Risk (may affect matching)

Note

New workers start with no rating until they complete their first 3 shifts. During this period, you'll see "New" instead of a star rating.

How Trust Score Is Calculated

Your trust score is a weighted average of several factors:

FactorWeightDescription
Facility Ratings50%Star ratings from completed shifts
Reliability25%Attendance, punctuality, cancellation rate
Verification Level15%Document completeness and validity
Platform Activity10%Response time, profile completeness

What Affects Your Rating

Facility Feedback

After each shift, facilities rate you on:

  1. Punctuality - Did you arrive on time?
  2. Professionalism - Conduct, communication, appearance
  3. Clinical Skills - Quality of work performed
  4. Overall Experience - Would they work with you again?

Reliability Metrics

Your reliability score tracks:

  • Attendance Rate - Shifts worked vs. shifts accepted
  • Punctuality - Check-in time vs. shift start time
  • Cancellation Rate - How often you cancel accepted shifts
  • Late Cancellations - Cancellations within 24 hours

Warning

Cancellations within 24 hours of a shift significantly impact your trust score. Only accept shifts you can definitely work.

Positive Contributions

These improve your score:

  • Completing shifts as scheduled
  • Arriving early or on time
  • Receiving positive reviews
  • Quick response to invitations
  • Keeping documents up to date

Negative Impacts

These hurt your score:

  • No-shows (very severe)
  • Late cancellations
  • Late arrivals
  • Negative facility feedback
  • Expired credentials
  • Slow response times

Viewing Facility Feedback

Accessing Your Reviews

  1. Go to Profile > Ratings & Reviews
  2. See your overall trust score
  3. View individual shift ratings
  4. Read written feedback (if provided)

Understanding Ratings

Each completed shift shows:

  • Star rating (1-5)
  • Category breakdown (punctuality, skills, etc.)
  • Written comments (optional)
  • Date and facility name

Anonymous Feedback

Some facilities leave anonymous feedback:

  • You'll see the rating but not the facility name
  • This protects honest feedback
  • Focus on patterns, not individual anonymous reviews

Improving Your Score

For New Workers

Starting strong matters:

  1. Complete your profile - 100% completion boosts initial matching
  2. Respond quickly - Fast response time builds trust
  3. Accept carefully - Only take shifts you can definitely work
  4. Arrive early - First impressions are crucial
  5. Over-deliver - Go above expectations

For All Workers

Consistent excellence builds your reputation:

Be Punctual

  • Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early
  • Account for traffic and parking
  • Check in via the app as soon as you arrive
  • Contact the facility if you're running late

Be Professional

  • Dress appropriately (follow facility dress code)
  • Maintain a positive attitude
  • Communicate clearly with staff
  • Follow facility protocols

Deliver Quality Care

  • Focus on patient/client needs
  • Apply your training and skills
  • Ask questions when unsure
  • Complete all required tasks

Communicate Well

  • Respond to messages promptly
  • Update your availability regularly
  • Notify facilities of any issues immediately
  • Complete shift notes as required

Recovering from a Low Score

If your score drops:

  1. Identify the cause - Review recent feedback
  2. Address issues - Fix what's within your control
  3. Build positive history - Complete shifts successfully
  4. Be patient - Improvement takes time (5-10 shifts)
  5. Contact support - If you believe ratings are unfair

Tip

Your most recent 20 shifts carry more weight than older shifts. Consistent recent performance can recover a low score.

Rating Appeals Process

When to Appeal

You can appeal a rating if:

  • The feedback contains factual errors
  • Circumstances were beyond your control
  • The rating appears vindictive or unfair
  • Technical issues caused problems (GPS failure, app issues)

How to Appeal

  1. Go to Profile > Ratings & Reviews
  2. Find the rating you want to appeal
  3. Tap Request Review
  4. Explain your situation clearly
  5. Provide any supporting evidence
  6. Submit the appeal

Appeal Review Process

OnLocum's trust team will:

  • Review your submission
  • Contact the facility if needed
  • Examine shift records and GPS data
  • Make a fair decision
  • Notify you of the outcome (typically 3-5 business days)

What Appeals Can't Change

Some situations won't result in rating removal:

  • General disagreement with feedback
  • Subjective opinions
  • Minor issues that occurred
  • Ratings without rule violations
