Does OnLocum have an app? How do I find available shifts?
Yes. The OnLocum app is available on iOS and Android smartphones. Download the app, apply, and pass an interview to discover and book shifts, manage your documents and credentials, view your work and payment histories, and more.
How long does it take to see shifts?
After you pass your OnLocum interview, you can search open shifts matching your specialty in your selected region by logging into the app.
To claim a shift, you will need to meet all of its requirements, successfully submit all of your credentials, and complete orientation at the facility through OnLocum.
How do I pick up shifts?
When a facility needs extra help, they post an available shift directly on the OnLocum app.
After you pass the OnLocum interview, you can search open shifts matching your specialty and credentials in your selected region by logging into the app and searching shifts.
Once you have found a shift you want to work, tap “Claim shift”. You will receive a confirmation in the app once your claim has been accepted. To claim shifts, you will need to meet all of its requirements, provide all of your credentials, and complete orientation at the facility through OnLocum.
Is there a minimum or maximum amount of hours or shifts I need to work?
There is no minimum or maximum amount of hours you must work to remain active on OnLocum as an independent contractor.
OnLocum professionals choose only the shifts that they want to work.
How long does OnLocum’s onboarding process take?
Once you pass your OnLocum interview, our team will walk you through your onboarding process, prepare you for orientation, and explain all the steps along the way so you can begin working.
The time it takes to complete onboarding depends on several factors, including how quickly you submit your required information and credentials.
What documents do I need to complete onboarding?
Once you pass your OnLocum interview, our team will walk you through your onboarding process. When you claim a shift, our team will let you know what that shift’s facility requires, including documents, drug screens, etc. Full credential requirements vary by region, facility, and specialty.
Standard requirements include:
- Professional licenses
- Work License or certificate(s)
- Background check
- National identification
- Letters of recommendation
Can I use the OnLocum app to try new professional specialties?
Do I need to attend a facility orientation or work a preceptor shift to claim a shift?
Orientation requirements vary by facility.
Some facilities will provide an orientation during your first shift, while others may require you to schedule an orientation ahead of your first shift.
There are also facilities that require preceptor shifts for certain specialties. In this case, the preceptor shift is facilitated by OnLocum.
